I know, it is February! I am definitely in the slow lane living aboard our boat.
The day after Thanksgiving, David, Jonathan and I traveled together to Nashville,
to be with Andrew and Mara, while Tania and Mia traveled to Romania for her sister’s wedding. We were welcomed warmly.
While Tania was gone and Andrew worked, we all got to spend lots of sweet time with Mara,
some chilly outside time,
and time with a few dear friends.
Christmas was wonderful as ALL of the Wells’ were able to gather together. Thanks to technology, we all met in Google Hangouts and celebrated Christmas as a family. Us on the boat, Andrew in Nashville, Emily in the Keys, Marilee in west FL, Stephen in Michigan, and Courtney in their new home in Colorado. So amazing and wonderful!
On the boat, our Captain Awesome was well dressed.
David added another creative outlet to his free time activities…one a bit louder than wire wrapping.
Richard added a looper to his guitar development. (Can you tell by their lack of winter clothing that Christmas in FL is quite warm?)
Katherine, with her wide variety of likes and dislikes, received many small gifts such as an eyeshadow palette, tea, photos, and Happy Days seasons 4 and 5.
Jonathan is our only non tech owner, so when his “inherited ipad” broke, he got a new one.
I got a hat with my boat title…XO (Executive Officer-the executive officer is the second-in-command, reporting to the commanding officer…
and one who also gives lots of hugs and kisses-xoxo)
David also created a beautiful trinity pendant for me.
My children did decorate gingerbread cookies with their friends for us, them, and all of our boat neighbors
and I created a new nativity…still learning.
January is Marilee’s birthday month, so we met up with them in the middle of the state at Silver Springs
for a beautiful, warm, sunny day on the water in canoes and kayaks.
We saw turtles,
alligators basking in the sunshine,
and believe it or not, we saw monkeys…a whole troop of them. They were on shore just feet from us.
Now that was one thing I never dreamed I would see in Florida. Afterwards, we hiked around the springs,
then enjoyed a birthday dinner with them…and Elvis. Baby #2 is due in March.
We celebrated Jonathan’s 4th year since becoming a lamb whose Shepherd is the LORD!
In his love of boating, David joined Captain Ron in transporting a sailboat down to Daytona
and helping at the top of a neighbor’s mast.
What great opportunities for practice
and a little bit of sunshine too.
Richard is still jammin’ and growing in his love and experience with his guitar.
Katherine, who is still loving her sign language class,
and has started an Instagram account to teach ASL (American Sign Language) to those not in vicinity of a face to face class.
Her artwork that won the contest for this years George Town Cruising Regatta
is now the artwork for their website.
We will not make it there this year…but will get the t-shirt
She has also changed from pink hair…
to red, the desire of her heart since a being a tween. She did it all by herself for the first time.
Jonathan is still surfing, though in his wet suit now. He was thankful to have his surf buddy that he met in Nassau, Bahamas, visit.
He is also blessed to have Graham, a kindred friend on land who spent the night
and created a replica of Jonathan surfing…out of legos. Wow!
…blonde hair and red surf board too!
Life is still awesome here on the boat…peaceful, slow, simple,
with lots of love is still found at the beach….
though Emily is still finding it under water.
Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
