After returning from the Bahamas in April,
we docked farther south in Soverel Harbor Marina
in North Palm Beach, just a stones throw from where we purchased our boat 5 years ago.
We arrived just in time to celebrate Richard’s induction into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
His hard work is becoming a blessing to him in his schooling at UF, and as he seeks God for clear direction in his education and life.
We had a visit from Marilee and the boys, Cristopher and Judah!
Jon then found another love in a place where surfing is limited…Archery!
In the words of Larry, his new coach,
he is a natural.
Shortly afterwards, Grandmother, Rick’s mom, broke her wrist,
then Grandaddy, Rick’s 91 yo father, had a stroke, so we got to spend time with him during his rehabilitation.
I loved being a cheerleader for my favorite Gator!
Jon and I then went on a road trip stopping to see my little bro, Uncle Matt, and family! My dad and mom, Aunt Natalie and great food,
games to play as we are a game playing family,
and a niece and her family too! Yay!
We then followed my parents to their farm in east TN and Jon enjoyed the freedom to practice his driving skills,
practicing archery with one of Happy’s pumpkins
in front of a hay bale target,
picking up chickens as well as gathering eggs,
fishing with Uncle Jon, his name sake,
harvesting honey from their bee hives
and building forts with me in the woods.
We traveled on to Andrew’s home in Nashville to stay with the granddaughters,
Mara, with Uncle Stephen, is the crafty one
who loves insects. She had the joy of holding ladybugs…
while they were “playing piggyback” 🙂 They can’t fly so she enjoyed them for a long time.
Mia, the joyful princess,
who loves to dance, especially with her cousins.
And Aria, who loves to eat,
and play in the water.
I had such fun with them inside
Jon and I headed back to Florida,
stopping to visit Grandaddy,
some friends who gave me this amazing flower…never seen one like it before,
and meet up with others to catch some good waves.
Emily and Richard
visited Marilee, boys, and Katherine for sweet sibling time together.
Rick and Jon enjoyed the Florida vs Miami game live ,witnessing a great win for the Gators!
Though prepared, we watched as hurricane Dorian made a 90 degree turn north from a path headed straight for us. God was merciful to us!
Summer has come to a close and 8th grade has begun here in Palm Beach Gardens. The perfect place for my care and treatment (next blog) and his “Edventure…Educational Adventure.”
