My family knows that I love to “kill two birds with one stone,” meaning “to succeed in achieving two things in a single action.” Always a win for me. My trip to Colorado in July was one of those successes.
I got to visit with, walk with, and enjoy sweet time with my daughter, Courtney before her first baby arrived.
He arrived as all of mine did…post due date. Grant Aaron was 7# 8oz and 21″ long. Sadly, due to COVID, I was unable to kiss the forehead of our sweet new grandson!
Daddy Julian is a proud Papa!
Living 10 miles from Courtney, I got to spend 2 weeks with my best friend, Camellia, celebrating our 35th Friendiversary!
Just like the good ole days!!
I got an extra bonus to be able to celebrate her daughter Miriam’s wedding, the one I was present with at her birth. Such a beautiful day! Such a beautiful trip!
It was such a joy to celebrate these events, but I am finding the same joy in events that are not so celebratory. My being hired last month was a great opportunity to see and hear the value I had the opportunity to bring to HomeLife Academy. The busyness of the season revealed the prematurity in the timing of my hire, and brought an end to my brief adventure with them; however, my loss of that job brought relief and continued freedom to still be a mom to Jon who is in his freshman year of homeschool high school. Having a few other part-time jobs has allowed me to both work and be home. What a great transition time to prepare me for the empty nest season right around the corner.
My journey in motherhood has been a long one, and so worth every moment I have had the privilege to have a part in. I look back with joy to the 34 years I have walked,
forward with joy to the 4 years I have left,
but most importantly, to today. Today I take another step as GOD faithfully guides me in His ways, beautifully provides for me by His hand, and sovereignly presides over all the affairs of my life! He is SO trustworthy and He is where my joy is!
“…for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10
